Giclèe Prints
Giclée, French for “to spray,” refers to a high-quality inkjet printing process. These printers use fine sprays to match colors and apply ink precisely, creating exceptional art prints. For the best results, artwork should be scanned or photographed at 300 DPI or higher.
The process uses archival-quality, pigment-based inks and high-grade papers. Printers typically use up to 12 ink cartridges to produce a wide color range, ensuring your artwork is reproduced with stunning accuracy.
Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta
Fine Art Baryta is a museum-quality paper with a bright white base, a subtle felt texture, and a refined baryta finish that gives prints exceptional depth, richness, and clarity. The slight sheen and smooth surface help create strong contrast, deep blacks, and impressive tonal separation while still maintaining the feel of a true fine art paper.
This paper is especially well suited for vibrant landscapes, wildlife photography, black and white images, night photography, and photographs with deep contrast or dramatic lighting. It produces rich color and crisp detail while allowing shadow areas and highlights to maintain excellent separation and depth.
Fine Art Baryta is one of the best choices for photographers looking for a bold, gallery-quality presentation without moving into an overly glossy finish. The combination of sharp detail, strong tonal range, and elegant surface texture makes it one of our favorite papers for high-impact fine art prints.
Hahnemühle Museum Etching
Our most popular and sought-after fine art papers, Museum Etching is a museum-quality, heavyweight cotton paper with a natural white tone and a rich textured surface that gives prints a distinct fine art feel. The textured finish adds depth and dimension while the cotton base creates a soft, premium tactile quality that stands out immediately in person.
Museum Etching is an excellent choice for black and white photography, landscapes, watercolor artwork, paintings, and fine art reproductions. It has a softer, artistic presentation that works beautifully for images with mood, texture, and subtle tonal transitions.
Because this paper absorbs more ink than glossier surfaces, prints can appear darker with heavier blacks and slightly reduced definition in shadow areas if files are not prepared correctly. Images may appear muddier or more contrasty than expected, especially in darker tones. We typically recommend slightly increasing exposure and carefully adjusting shadows and blacks during print preparation for the best final result.
Hahnemühle Fine Art Pearl
A bright white fine art paper with a delicately textured surface and a smooth, silky feel. Its elegant pearl finish adds a subtle sheen without being overly glossy, giving prints a refined look with excellent color, detail, and depth.
Fine Art Pearl is one of the most versatile papers we offer and works well with a wide range of editing styles and subjects. From landscapes and wildlife to portraits and everyday photography, it delivers a balanced presentation that feels both professional and approachable.
If you’re new to fine art printing and unsure where to start, Fine Art Pearl is often one of the safest and easiest papers to recommend thanks to its flexibility and forgiving nature across many different image styles.
Hahnemühle Photo Rag Ultra Smooth
A 100% cotton rag paper with an ultra smooth matte surface designed to produce rich tonal range, deep blacks, and beautiful color reproduction. This archival paper is both acid and lignin free, making it an excellent choice for long-lasting fine art prints and gallery presentations.
Photo Rag Ultra Smooth has become one of our favorite papers, and our customers feel the same way. It offers a clean, refined look with incredible depth and a soft matte finish that works especially well for fine art photography, portraits, moody landscapes, black and white images, and artwork with subtle tones and detail.
If your work relies heavily on extremely saturated colors and maximum vibrancy, you may want to consider a glossier paper instead. Photo Rag Ultra Smooth leans more toward a softer, elegant fine art presentation rather than intense color pop.
Hahnemühle Photo Rag Metallic
Photo Rag Metallic combines the soft feel of a cotton fine art paper with a unique metallic sheen that gives prints an incredible sense of depth, light, and dimension. This paper produces bold color, deep blacks, bright highlights, and excellent detail, making images appear almost illuminated in the right lighting.
We especially recommend Photo Rag Metallic for astrophotography and other images with dramatic lighting, reflections, or strong contrast. The metallic finish helps emphasize highlights and fine detail in a way that feels incredibly dynamic in person while still maintaining a refined fine art look.
Photo Rag Metallic is one of the most unique papers we offer and is perfect for photographers looking to create artwork with extra visual impact and depth.
Photo Silk Baryta X:
Photo Silk Baryta X is a smooth baryta paper with a soft satin finish that delivers rich color, deep blacks, and excellent detail while maintaining a refined fine art appearance. The subtle sheen adds depth and contrast without the heavy glare of a traditional glossy paper.
This paper works especially well for landscapes, wildlife, portraits, black and white photography, and images where you want strong contrast and clarity while still keeping a softer, more elegant presentation. It offers a great balance between the boldness of glossy papers and the subtle feel of matte fine art papers.
Photo Silk Baryta X is an excellent choice for photographers looking for a premium paper with strong depth, clean detail, and a timeless gallery-quality look.
